Scholarship/Athlete Travel

There are three main carriers we have that provide insurance specifically for scholarship athletes.  They are AIG Travel Guard Canada, Travel Underwriters, and Group Medical Services (GMS).  Please take a look at the products offered and choose the one that is right for your situation. 

Please note that this product must be purchased prior to departure. If you buy online, make sure you download and read a copy of the policy in its entirety.

AIG Travel Guard Canada offers emergency medical insurance to athletes who are on scholarship to athletes in other countries.  For a list of coverage for the entire season (305-days).  Please click the AIG Travel Guard Logo for a list of sports covered and the prices.

HEALTH INSURANCE BULLETIN FOR CANADIANS ON AMERICAN ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS



Travel Underwriters offers up to a maximum of $5,000,000.00 of emergency medical coverage for athletes and scholars, and it can be purchased on an annual basis.  The benefit of this product is specific to the length of time between return trips to Canada.  Many athletes and scholars who are returning home every120 days benefit by saving on the annual premium.

Group Medical Services offers up to a maximum of $2,000,000.00 of emergency medical coverage for athletes and scholars and it can be purchased up to 180 days and note that prices are quoted at $250.00 deductable.  To get the $0.00 deductable price please add ten percent.
